Firstly, it is a violation of first Amendment rights. Like it or not, freedom of speech is crucial in our society. Another reason against it is the probability the government will go too far. The government could easily switch from removing adult content to direct censorship of what can be said.

Therefore government action is not the answer. Restriction methods are available if parents want them. It is up to the parents not the TV, or the government, to raise their kids.
