A detailed Summary of America: Broken as Designed


The United States is over two hundred years old and an assessment of its system is in dire need. In order to correctly assess it, we need to ask ourselves about 1) the statement of its goals 2) the specification and 3) the implementation of the system. The United States possesses all of these things, the statement of goals (the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers), design specification (the Constitution), and the implementation (the United States as it exists). According to the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, the US exists only by consent of the people who have the right to institute a new state when the old ceases to follow the founding principles of the Declaration. It also states that the right to "life, liberty


The question isn't how this article relates to the class it's how it doesn't. We are studying American Government and part of studying it is first learning about it and then being able to recognize it's flaws and what could be done to fix them. The Unites States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are without a doubt outdated. This article shows several parts of the Constitution we have covered and it also points out some flaws in the writing of it.
