The United States is over two hundred years old and an assessment of its system is in dire need. In order to correctly assess it, we need to ask ourselves about 1) the statement of its goals 2) the specification and 3) the implementation of the system. The United States possesses all of these things, the statement of goals (the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers), design specification (the Constitution), and the implementation (the United States as it exists).
