Red Dragon

I chose the book Red Dragon because I really enjoy all the movies that have been made about Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and not to mention Red Dragon. This 351 pages long book was written by the author Thomas Harris in 1981 but he was also the author of another of my favorites Silence of the Lambs. There have been made motion pictures after both those books.

Thomas, a native of Mississippi, began his writing career covering crime in the United States and Mexico, and was a reporter and editor for the Associated Press in New York City. His first novel, Black Sunday, was published in 1975, followed by Red Dragon in 1981, The Silence of the Lambs in 1988 and Hannibal in 1999.

The story is about a former detective, Will Graham. Graham is a dark haired, skinny man. All the sun in Florida has made him really tan He is enjoying a peaceful retirement with his wife and kid down in Florida when out of nowhere comes an old but unwanted friend, Jack Crawford. Jack was working with Graham on the Hannibal case when Graham caught him but got stabbed in return. Graham knows that usually when Jack comes, he is asking Will for help. And since Graham has heard of this new serial killer called the ''toothfa

In the following night Jack Crawford wakes up cause of the phone. He answers. It's the code guy telling him he has solved it, and it is Grahams address in Florida. Jack panics, first calls the 911 to get Grahams family moved to a safe house. Then Graham gets to know if it. Graham's family is taken to a safe house and everything goes well.

One night Graham has a vision. The killer must have seen the families before he killed them and both families had made many home videos. He must work at some place they produce small shorts and family videos. On the covers from both families are names leading them to one man. Francis Dolarhyde. He even fits the physical description the police have and lives in the same town where the reporter was found. A large team of police force is gathered and everybody drive to Dolarhyde's house. When they get there there is a big burning house there, A blind woman crying that Francis killed him self and a body so badly burned that they cannot identify him but a bite mark on Mrs. Leeds and the bodies teeth match so it has to be him. They call it enough evidence and case is closed. The lady that was on the scene when they arrived is interrogated briefly and Graham finds out that she and Francis had been having an affair and she liked him very much. Graham didn't see that one coming. All goes well after that. Will goes back home to the sandy beaches of Florida with his wife and son and everything is back to normal.

ry,, he knows pretty much what it is all about. And as Graham suspected Jack is not in for a social call. He is indeed asking Graham to come with him to Atlanta to take a look of the crime scene. Graham isn't too eager about going away from hi
