It is still a common way of thinking that a high intelligence quotient means a successful career. But according to Daniel, Goleman the intelligence quotient contributes at best only 20 % to the factors that determine a person's life success. Which means that at least 80 % are determined by other forces like luck or social class and emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is a relatively new concept so it can't be said yet how much an impact it has on life success. But from what scientist know so far it has at least as much an impact as the intelligence quotient, if not more.
This assignment deals with the question what emotional intelligence is as well as why it is important and the impact it has on our life.
