The Movie, The Patriot, starts out with most of the colonists angered. This part of the movie caught my attention at the very beginning and kept it throughout the entire movie. I enjoyed especially the action and war scenes in the movie, but the storyline was very good as well. To understand this historical fiction movie, a historic background is needed. If a person does not understand what is meant by "Taxation without representation," then it will completely lose the entire meaning of the movie. Although I enjoyed the main portion of the movie, there were some obvious likes and dislikes in my opinion, however. I think I did learn some from the movie and it helped understand more of what the people of that time were feeling and why someone might not first want to fight in battle. The characters really played all of the parts really well and it made me think that I was actually seeing a live battle of that time. I would have liked to see more of the whole battle instead of only glimpses through the eyes of the character. Overall I had many more likes that dislikes in the movie.
