Cynthia is a 23 year old Sergeant in the Marine Corps. She is from a Mormon family, but is not religious herself. She has never been married, but is in a serious relationship with someone who is not actively religious either. She plans to make the Marines a career.Cynthia believes that people are religious because they have a natural need to believe in something. She explains that if people did not believe in a higher being, there would be no explanation for our existence. She feels that people wouldn’t feel as though they had a purpose in life. Brandon is a 24 year old Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He is from Shelby, Montana. He does not actively practice any religion, but is a Christian. He is not presently involved with anyone and does plan to make a career out of the Marine Corps.
