A detailed Summary of Oedipus Essay


"It is inevitable as children grow up and test out their own powers- that there be some conflict of interests with their parents" (Miller 46). When children are growing up, it is impossible for them to avoid fights and disagreements. Also, children need to find out how far they can cross their boundaries without paying the consequences. Today, teenagers are set rules by their parents. Teenagers like to break these rules to see what will happen to them. Also, curfews are set and broken by teenagers. They try to see how late they can stay out without getting into a lot of trouble. Plus, disagreements occur every day between teenagers and their parents. Teenagers want to go to parties, while their parents do not want them to go. Even in today's world disagreements and arguments happen constantly. Like our world today, Oedipus had the same problems as society's teenagers.
