I am originally from a small farming community in the southwest part of the

province. Most communities in this province are small and based around agriculture.

Since the agriculture industry is doing so poorly a lot of communities are suffering.

People cannot afford to stay in an endeavour that demands an enormous amount of input,

but has no dividends. The Canadian government fails to recognize, or just ignores, the

fact that there is a "farm crisis." People who cannot afford to stay farming have to pack

up and move to find work elsewhere, or just move their farming operation somewhere

deciding where to plant their roots.
