Give me an American Dream
Ever since the beginning of the United States there have been dreamers. Each person having there own dream, there own idea of what they want to and hope to become of there own life living in this new world. The dreams each person holds is their own that they have made for themselves throughout the time they have had on the earth. Always changing but always staying the same. The dreams they what fir the future the dreams they remember from the past. This is the American Dream, the dream that a single body wants for themselves that is special to them. The American Dream can be shared by more than one individual but living in a location hundreds of miles away and in surrounds totally different than the ones we live in. The American Dream can be described as what you hope to accomplish in ones life time. The only way for your American Dream to come true is to achieve it, not by sitting back and hoping that it will come on its own. Get out there and seize the American Dream. The American Dream can only be achieved through one's self. That through ones determination one can achieve anything. "There is a time in everyman's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance: that imitation is suicide: that he must take
The American dream can be not what the dream once was. One can dream all their lives and at the end their dream is something that once was not their original intentions. "I drank it in, on speechless rapture. The world was new to me, and I have never seen anything like this at home", (Twain, 675). This is the dream of many people to leave the home they have always known and be adventurous. To boldly go where no one has gone before and having the experience of having the world raise you. "I entered upon the small enterprise of "learning" twelve or thirteen hundred miles of the great Mississippi River with the easy confidence of my time of life", (Twain, 670). Twain wrote about a child becoming a river boat captain, an adventurous job title of the time. Through the story the kid realized that his dream of becoming a river boat pilot was not what is dream was. Some dreams are something wonderful until the experience is there. So one may loose there dream but it will be replaced by another one and that dream may be something that is what their true dream will be. So an American Dream is just a dream until it happens. Many people believe that the American dream can be achieved through the power money. To have money they think they need a hard good paying job, all just to be happy. Many Dreams have been based off of working in the cities to make something of themselves, to support a family. "I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear, Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong", (Whitman, 397). Even though they have to work hard for what they believe is their Dream they
