Becoming pregnant may not always be a planned occurrence, especially when a woman is in college. Things happen, and when they do, some may not know what to do next. What several people do not realize also is that there are several things that can go wrong during a pregnancy, and proper prenatal care is essential. There are several types of diseases that occur only in pregnant women, which is what many do not know about. It is so important to be checked for these problems, to maintain a proper diet, and to see an OB/GYN doctor throughout an entire pregnancy. Some risks to the woman include high blood pressure, more infections, discomfort, shortness of breath, and the delivery may be more difficult, with recovery taking longer. Eating the right foods is the main way to control blood sugar. Pregnant women need to be eating a healthy diet anyway. Testing for this is fairly simple. At around 16 to 24 weeks, the woman drinks a glucose solution at the doctor's office, and one hour after that her blood is taken and tested for insulin. If it is too high, more testing is done later, and a special diet is recommended, and the pro
