Differences in Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men
The novels, The Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men, were very tragic. Both novels had very strong tragic points of sense of life, impulse and tragedy itself. The Great Gatsby, however, was a more tragic story. The novels presented a tragic sense of life throughout the text. Inevitably they were doomed through their own failures, errors, or even the action of the virtues before the tragedy ever occurred. In The Great Gatsby, Mr. Wilson, angry about his wife?s death needs to find revenge and kills Gatsby and then himself. Mr. Wilson believed he did wrong holding Myrtle inside and planned to fix things for her murder by killing the person with the car that hit her. He goes insane and kills Gatsby and then shoots himself to end it all, when really Gatsby didn?t hit his wife. On the other hand, in Of Mice and Men, Lennie was born retarded and different from everybody else. On page 45 quote ?Course he ain?t
