A detailed Summary of The Circle

Wouldn't it be fun to go back in time and relive history? Wouldn't it be great to go back in time and correct mistakes? And wouldn't it be cool to go back in time to relive you childhood? If I could choose, I would go back and relive my childhood. This period of my life contained nothing but good times. That is if you don't count the spankings I received. Currently my life's going good, but as a child, I didn't know what stress was. I didn't have to meet deadlines. Worries found no place during my childhood. The circle I lived in contributed to many of the memories. It was tough to keep all things the same as my friends and I got older. The reason? We grew up.

Saturday morning couldn't come any time sooner. Angel and I would be in Mr. Angelo's class on a Friday afternoon awaiting the sound of the 2:45 bell. The game we played last Saturday would be the subject of the day.

"I can't believe Chico threw five interceptions," he said. "You got lucky on that catch you made for the game winner."

"Well, you had some NFL-like catches too," I said to cheer him up. "I mean all Chico had to do was get the ball to you and you were gone. We can't keep up with your speed."

"I know," Angel said with his big smile.

The next Saturday came and the excited, enthusiam we had the week before because of the idea of the KFL, vanished. We realized that last Saturday, we didn't even play football. Talk, talk, talk is all we did. No wonder Angel and I had nothing to talk about Friday afternoon. It's funny how you try to make things better than they can ever be. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We tried to fix a well-oiled machine. As we tried to make it better, we had to think about the possible negatives of the whole KFL. What if no one came to watch us? With all the planning and hard work having to be put into the KFL, where would our free time to play football go? By the time we finished, it would be dark, then we would all hear our mother call out those infamous words, "Honey, it's getting dark, come inside."

As I think back, I believe we could have accomplished our goal. When I saw the movie "Little Giants", it gave me a glimpse of what the KFL could have been. In the movie, these little, cute kids had their nicknames on the back of their jerseys. Nicknames such as "Hot Hands", and "Ice Box" were cool. I had my nickname ready to be ironed on the back of my uniform, "Glue Hands". I bet Chico would have laughed at his nickname of "INT" which stood for interception.

Entering out circle is like any other street. It's narrow and has two houses on each side. But twenty yards in, it cirlces out and three more houses guard the round part. My house is the first one on the left. My garage door took a beating from line drives when we played kickball. But this time, it's football season.
