Pablo piccaso

A detailed Summary of Pablo piccaso

Pablo Picasso - what a name! Living proof that little people can grow to a colossus - Picasso - Full of energy, fun and play - I think he would like this pun, "He was rather short when he was alive and shrunk considerably after he died." We laugh at death in order not to cry.

Very funny, yet undeniably serious, Picasso left us to ponder the worlds of comedy and tragedy in his work. A phenomenon, a genius, Picasso, leaving the world thousands upon thousands of original testimonials, recording his human experience: paintings, drawings, etchings, sculpture, design, ceramics, tapestries and prints. His production will exert its influence upon artists for thousands of years to come. Has there ever been another artist more controversial? Can't think of one.

Like an atomic bomb, Picasso exploded upon the world - he once said that 'art had more power than an atomic bomb,' and he was right. The after shock of art goes on for a long time - 500 years is nothing for a good work of art - Leonardo da Vinci proved that, and he didn't come close to the production of Picasso.

The year 1900 was a turning point in the social history of mankind and Picasso slotted into that period very well. As a young man he was in the righ

Some have said film is the number one art form of the Twentieth Century - that's nonsense! Creative art is not now or ever going to be a corporate process - that's the realm of the 'spectacular,' the 'extravaganza,' 'Disney World,' 'Money Machines,' and the like - not art.

Seemingly unstoppable in his outrageous productions between 1912 - 1915, Picasso made changes to painting with his numerous constructions that made us laugh while traditional thinkers cried, foul! His "Guitar" of 1912,   "Musical Instruments" of 1914 were constructed of sheet metal, wire and painted wood. His humorist, "Man with a Hat" of 1913 was pasted paper, charcoal and ink. And his funny "Glass of Absinth" of 1914 was of Silver and painted bronze. It was that sort of thing that slowly changed our frame of mind, certainly not the standard techniques taught by academics of the time.

In a recent film titled simply, "Surviving Picasso," Anthony Hopkins does an interesting portrayal of the artist but the film, designed to play to the Middle Class female point of view, is totally misleading. Picasso's women were highly individual, far outside the comprehension of the common Middle Class American woman that the film was directed to impact. The story is based on the book by one of Picasso's many loves, Francoise Gilot, (Played by Natascha McIlhone) who had two children by the artist.

That was also the case with his relationships between himself, his art and women - which happened to be central to his inspiration, a vital part of his creative process. His women, those beautiful women: Eva Gouel, Fernande Olivier, Olga Koklova, Marie-Therese, Francoise Gilot, Jacqueline Roque and all the other lovely creatures that he knew.

t place at the right time - Paris. When you think of all the changes that have taken place over the past one-hundred years, you soon realize what an enormous metamorphous that has taken place in human thinking. Directly or indirectly, Picasso had one of those creative minds responsible for changing the way millions of people think about
