Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone.

Character(s): Harry Potter – a boy with very magical powers and a lightning bolt scar on his head all from a dark and evil wizard Lord Voldemort. Harry has two friends Ron and Hermione that he met at Hogwarts (the school of witchcraft and wizardry).

Setting: This story takes place in modern times that we live in right now. This story takes place in England. ( J.K. Rowling wrote these books in a coffee shop.) .

Plot: In the beginning of the story Harry Potter"s parents are killed by the evil wizard Lord Voldemort because he is trying to take over the world and does not want them to get in the way. Harry"s Mother Lily dies protecting Harry and somehow Lord Voldemort cannot kill Harry. Harry gets a lightning bolt scar on his head and also gets some of Lord Voldemort"s powers including the ability to talk to snakes.

Soon later Harry is the big news of the town and everyone is talking about him. He is now an orphan and has to live with his aunt and uncle Mr. And Mrs. Dursley and their little brat child Dudley. Harry sleeps in the cupboard and is told for 10 years that his parents died in a car accident.

When Harry was 11 he was accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by the headmaster: Albus Dumpledore. On the train ride to Hogwarts, he met a boy named Ron Weasley and they became very good friends. At Hogwarts there are 4 different buildings or dorms with about 80 people in each. The Dorms are Hufflepuff, Gryfindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. During class Ron and Harry meet the teachers pet Hermione Granger and avoid her at first but then decide to be her friend. From then on Harry learns many things about magic, wizards, and playing Quidditch (a wizard game played on broomsticks that fly). Read the book and find out if Harry can survive the encounter.

Opinion: I definitely think this is one of the best books I have ever read in my life.
