The first question that has to be dealt with is the exact of understanding of satire as a form of literature and the gradual changes that it has undergone through history terminating with the form of present usage. It is not that one agrees with all the modes of usage, by that is only a discussion without any meaning as individuals use it in different manners for their own benefits, and their outlook is not always the protection of the correct form of literature. After all, literature is also the source of income for many. .

As a form of literature, satire treats the entire society as being part of fragmentation, with all the concerned ill effects not very far away. It sees chaos as looming, cities are wastelands, rooms in schools are full of jungles containing only blackboards, society is full of gangs and mobs, marriages either ceases altogether or remains as a matter of convenience, the binding material of civilized society gradually lose their effects and the entire society seems to be coming apart as the social fabric seems to be falling apart. It is the form of literature that deals with society that is no longer full of life or development, and all aspects of the life do not seem whole or totally healthy. (Shapes of Satire) .
However, today one of the greatest sources of satire is regarding political issues and these often do not observe the rules of satire as literature. In the spring of 2003, there was almost a fist fight between two famous authors - liberal satirist Al Franken and Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly. They ended up exchanging insults at the normally staid Book-Expo America booksellers' convention. The angry person was Bill O'Reilly and he was annoyed by the cover of the book written by Franken that was about to be released - Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. There was a giant cover that was displayed at the convention and this had a picture of O'Reilly looking splotchy and ill tempered.
