Middle Ages & King Arthur

             Back in the Middle Ages, King Arthur and his people had a different way of life and civilization, then what people have now. Everything from the people's housing, food, value of their money, and festivals are different than how they are now. In the Middle Ages the people did not have the resources and technology that people today have. They had very strict laws and codes that people had to follow. God and their religion were their first priorities. The construction and architecture of the houses and building were very complex and hard to build. Courtly love is the code of behavior that defined the relationship between lovers during the Middle Ages. There are some very important characters that lived during the Middle Ages also. The Middle Ages is an era that is very different than now in many ways.

             One of the most important figures out of the Middle Ages is King Arthur. He is said to be the son of Uthur Pendragon and Ygraine of Cornwall. He was the king of the Britons who fought against the Anglo- Saxons. In many legends he was kept away from the kingdom during his childhood. He gathered some really great knights in his court. Problems of precedence were avoided by using the round table at meetings. King Arthur has a big influence on literature, art, music, and society from the Middle Ages to the present. There is a huge debate on his existence because there is no conclusive evidence to prove he ever existed. In all the legends about King Arthur, he was a hero to many. His character is a strong, brave, and genuine man. King Arthur is the figure in the middle of the Arthurian legends.

             Guinevere is one of the main woman in the Arthurian literature. She is also one of the most variously portrayed characters. She is the daughter of King Leodegrance of Cameliard by Malory and the daughter of a Roman noble by Geoffrey of Monmouth. Guinevere is the wife of King Arthur. Her name is spelled differently depending on which legend she is in.
