There are many variations of her name, such as: Guinevere, Guenevere, Guenievre, Gwenhwyfar, Guenhumare, or Ginevra. She is beautiful and desirable. Guinevere, in most legends, has an extra-marital relationship with Sir Lancelot. In some instances she is condemned, according to law, or forgiven outright for her sins. Her remains were either were or were not found by the monks of Glastonbury when they discovered the grave of King Arthur in 1191, it all depends on which versions of literature people read. Guinevere plays an important role in the Middle Ages.
Lancelot is the greatest known of Arthur's knights in the Arthurian legends. He is the son of King Ban of Benwick. He has been known as Lancelot of the Lake or Lancelot du Lac because the Lady of the Lake raised him. He has been known as an adventurous man. In some legends he rescues the abducted Queen Guinevere form Meleagant, and in others he rescues the queen after she is condemned to be burned to death for adultery. Elaine of Astolat loved Lancelot very much. Elaine is the daughter of King Pelles. Lancelot was tricked into sleeping with her. Lancelot and Elaine had a son whose name is Galahad. Lancelot and Guinevere had an affair that causes heartache and destroys King Arthur. Lancelot is a well-known knight.
Merlin was a magician, prophet, and advisor. He is active in the administration of Arthur's kingdom. Merlin was known to have no human father. According to different legends, Merlin's father was an incubus, an evil spirit that has intercourse with sleeping women. The evil child was supposed to provide a counterweight to the good influence of Jesus Christ on earth. Merlin was baptized early on in his life to get rid of all the evil in his nature. He still had his powers. That is to be one of the reasons why Merlin was such a great man to King Arthur and many others.
Chivalry is a set of duties and ideals that people had to follow in the Middle Ages.
